妈妈：我注视着坐在一个很大的晚餐桌上的我两个最年长的女儿，心里想着
是时候了！我这长着红色的头发和蓝眼睛的两个女儿长得太像我和我姐姐在当年

子过去总是被人误以为是一对双胞胎。经常被外人搞混了。不过这没有什么可以

自从大女儿的月经已经来了来了刚过一年，比她小一岁的二女儿的月经也来
了（非常准时！同我家其他女人的经期完全一致，我觉得今天晚上是一个非常好

孩的这样的事情也是我们这些女孩子帮忙的。不错甚至『帮妈妈忙』这样的事情
还包括，我们自己也为我们的爸爸怀孕生子，就像我们的妈妈做的那样。这就像
我们这些女孩子可以帮助家里做的一个日常的家务一样。
所以，如果我们的妈妈认为是我们可以帮家里的忙，为我们的亲生父亲怀孕
生孩子的时候了，我们当然不会有任何的反对。我的意思是，这就是一个女孩子
应该帮助家里干的事情之一，只要这个女孩子是我们家庭的一分子。
我感觉我的下面已经有一点湿了，我已经很想要了！我知道我姐姐的下面已

我们所有姓克兰德的姓氏的女孩子怀孕的年龄就像芝加哥地区的选民一样，
「早投、多投」。（是的，我们有很多关于这个的笑话）。我们偏爱很早就有我
们自己的孩子，然后当我们的年龄再大一点的时候，我们的孩子们又让我们生出
新的一批孩子。当其他的家庭刚刚开始生孩子的时候，我们通常已经生完了。

孤儿才开始了这种近亲结婚的习俗，或者他们的父母也是近亲结婚）。我们就好
像是无性生殖的复制品，或者是同卵孪生的双胞胎。
这两个孤儿开始了我们整个家族（对了，当时，他们一个是１５岁，一个是
１３岁），他们已经是能够结婚的年龄了，不能算是儿童了），父母死了以后，
他们一起生活；最终他们有了他们自己的孩子；没有任何一个新搬来的邻居知道，

很少有一代人中间有超过一个的男孩子，而通常都是有四到五个女孩子；有
的时候，整整一代人都没有一个男孩子出生。
真是令人震惊，当我那个嫁给了她的表兄弟而没有像通常的和她们的姐妹一
起嫁给她们的兄弟的两个伯祖母中间的一个生了三个男孩的时候，我很难去责怪
男方或女方。
当整个家族听到一些在纽约地区的古老家族声称说他们是「血统纯正」的时
候都发出一阵阵低声地嘲笑。他们根本就不知道这个专有名词的真正的含义。在
经过了许多代的父亲和女儿交配配种，兄弟和姐妹交配配种之后，我们的家庭变
